Would becoming a Gynecologic Oncologist be pointless?

i don?t think it?s pointless.
you?ll just have a more specific subset of patients to attend to. Medical Oncology covers a lot of malignancies, plus gynecologic problems are more sensitive, thus needing it?s own subspecialty.There will be cancer centers who will want a specialty. However, being so specialized might be harder to get a job.

Cancer centers generally have more speciallized care.you are misinformed. Gyn/Onc surgeons are crucial in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological malignancies. Being that specialized you will likely have to practice in a larger city if you want to do nothing but gyn/onc, but thats no reason not to follow your dream. good luck and dont listen to naysayers!
