Tips on Designing Your Home Plan - Landscape Design

Designing Your Home Plan photo picture pics imageIf you?ve got the opportunity to design and have built your own home exactly as you want it, then you are in an incredibly fortunate position and one that many people would give their right arm to trade with you. This is a dream for a huge number of people and something that many of us aspire to. In the long run it is likely to ensure that you are more comfortable and happier in your home than you otherwise could have been and that you find contentment in having everything the way you want it.

That?s how you might feel once you?ve had your dream home for a while. In the meantime though you need to think about actually designing it and building it and this can be an incredibly complex and potentially stressful process if you?ve never done it before.

You likely have some rather set ideas for what you want to get from your property. In all likelihood you have dreamed of designing your own home since you were a child (most of us have) and there are probably lots of ideas you have for rooms and features that you can?t wait to implement.

But there?s a lot more to consider than just your roof garden and super-cool-study. You also need to think about all of the more practical elements ? things like your corridor and your rooms and how they are going to be linked together. It?s less exciting but it?s more crucial. You need to think about where you want your bedroom to be in relation to the kitchen, how many bathrooms you want there to be, and how much of your land you want to be house versus garden. And you need to design it all in such a way that it isn?t going to instantly collapse.

This is all a bit daunting when you first start out and can feel a bit like you?ve had the wind taken out of your sales. You might have had ambitions to have certain rooms upstairs and downstairs only to learn that it?s not possible because you need to have more support in order to have a room there, or that your roof would be too high for the planning permission you can get. There are all kinds of restrictions and rules that you must work within and this is something that you will likely need a little guidance and help with.

Before you get started then, try to find a building planning service you can use and read up as much as possible on what you want. The process here is going to be a little like using a web design company ? and you need to work with the service in order to come up with a solution that you will be happy with, but that will also work and not fall apart. They have a lot of experience not only in the logistics of building planning, but also in what works and what people are happy with and they can give you a lot of good advice on smart building design.

Make sure you have a clear picture of what you want. Make a list of features you?d like and think about where you want rooms to go and what you want the proportion to be ? remember that your space is finite and think about how much land you are likely to have. Then, once you have this design you can work alongside the service help them to help you to achieve your dream home.
