It's no fun being the person who's bad with names, and if you're that person, you know it's nothing personal. We've discussed how to remember people's names a few different ways, and Namerick uses many of those methods to make the process just a little bit easier. It creates alliterative mnemonics (enter in "Ellen", get "Ellen eats eyes") that help the name stick in your head (sort of like how the US-record-holding memory champ creates memory palaces), adds context to the person (including where you met him or her, what he or she looks like, how you're connected), and so on. There's always the awkward problem of "How do I enter their name into the app without being rude?" The answer: You can't, really. Not while you're talking to the person, that is?at least not unless you can convince them that you have a legitimate disorder. Your best bet probably involves making an extra effort to remember the name long enough that you get a chance to set up your Namerick. If you can manage that, the app really does seem like it will help you boost your name-remembering skills.
